Do I qualify for funding?

Why should I choose wind power?
If you have a windy site, then a turbine could be the best solution for you. Wind power is the fastest-growing form of renewable energy in the world and the UK has some of the best wind régimes in Europe. You can check your site at NOBAL LINK.
How much energy will be generated?
This depends on factors such as the wind at your site and the topography of the location. etc. We will undertake a site visit to ensure suitability before installing any of our wind turbines.
What can I expect to pay?
This depends on the size of turbine you choose and the location of your turbine site. You can expect to pay between £5k and £15k for a fully installed turbine.
How easy will planning be?
Proven wind turbines do not usually cause any problems with town planners because of their size and our innovative noise-reduction measures. The planning process may take up to four months so we suggest that you submit your planning application early in the process.
Will my neighbours complain?
When people think of wind turbines, they think of large megawatt wind farms which sit on mountains and in valleys. Our turbines are small scale – the largest mast height is 25m – so they do not tend to cause problems.
Will my turbine make a loud noise?
We have specially engineered our blades to reduce noise. We now believe them to be the quietest wind turbine blades available.
Who will install my turbine?
Your turbine will be installed by one of Proven Energy’s network of installers. You have our assurance that they will be focused on fulfilling your requirements and all are fully trained in Proven Turbine installations.
Will my turbine cause problems for local wildlife?
There is no evidence to suggest that wind turbines interfere with wildlife. Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace have released a joint report to this effect.
What is the maximum grant available?
The maximum grant amount for any site is £1m. The maximum grant as a percentage of a project is 50%.
When do the grants stop?
Grants will be issued until the allocated amount runs out. This is currently expected to be in 2011.
